Sabino de Bari is an Italian composer and guitarist based in London.  I have graduated in composition cum laude and in classical guitar

My composition “Nubi”, for string orchestra, has received an honourable mention at the “Premio Sinopoli” 2017 composition competition while my composition “Gloucester” for orchestra has won the third prize in the “Premio Abbado” composition competition (2015 Edition).

My music has been performed in Italy, England, France, Austria, Spain, China and Mexico.

I have released solo guitar albums ( Pas de chat, In lontananza) including Nubes for decacorde (10 strings guitar) and ensemble music albums (Voices, Lo racconta il mare).

I have published the guitar piece “Valse des Troix Oisons” which has been included in the “14 Selected Pieces By New Composers” collection, presented by Leo Brouwer for the “Roberto Fabbri Signature Series” (Ed. Carisch).

As a performer, I am also interested in improvisation and the exploration of extended techniques and new timbres on the guitar.

I have been performing concerts as a soloist as well as playing in an ensemble and I have been involved in several international music festivals and contexts.

As an educator, I have been teaching in various music institutes including at Birmingham Royal Conservatoire as a trainee and as visiting tutor at Trinity Laban (London) and Frosinone Conservatoire (Italy). I have been appointed as Professor of Composition at the London Performing Academy of Music in 2022.

I published my guitar method for children “The sounds of the guitar” where creative skills, as well as performing skills, are taught through exciting original pieces of music which include extended techniques for a fun approach to music learning.
