Sabino de Bari is an Italian composer and guitarist based in London. He graduated in composition cum laude and in classical guitar.
His composition “Nubi”, for string orchestra, has received an honourable mention at the “Premio Sinopoli” 2017 composition competition and his composition “Gloucester” for orchestra won the third prize in the “Premio Abbado” composition competition (2015 Edition). His music has been performed in Italy, England, France, Austria, Spain, China and Mexico.
He has released albums for ensembles, solo classical guitar and decacorde (10 strings guitar). He has published the guitar piece “Valse des Troix Oisons” which has been included in the “14 Selected Pieces By New Composers” collection, presented by Leo Brouwer for the “Roberto Fabbri Signature Series” (Ed. Carisch) and his own guitar method for children “The sounds of the guitar” where creative skills, as well as performing skills, are taught through exciting original pieces of music which include extended techniques for a fun approach to music learning.
He has been performing concerts as a soloist, playing in an ensemble, and being involved in several international music festivals and contexts.
As an educator, he has taught in various music institutes, including at Birmingham Royal Conservatoire as a trainee and as a visiting tutor at Trinity Laban (London) and Frosinone Conservatoire (Italy). He has been appointed as Professor of Composition at the London Performing Academy of Music in 2022.
