Our Community Ground Rules
🎼 Our Community Ground Rules
-
Respect the "Work in Progress": We are all here to learn. Be supportive of classmates sharing unfinished ideas, rough drafts, or experimental sketches.
-
Constructive Feedback Only: When offering thoughts to peers, focus on specific musical elements (e.g., "The rhythm in bar 4 feels a bit busy") rather than "good" or "bad."
-
Active Participation: To make our Q&A and discussions valuable, please stay engaged. If your camera is off, try to contribute via the chat or audio.
-
No Software Snobbery: Whether a student uses an expensive DAW, free notation software, or a pencil and paper, all methods are equally valid and respected.
-
Honour the Break: We have a strict 10-minute break to prevent screen fatigue. Please use it to step away, stretch, and rest your ears.
-
Punctuality: Because our 90-minute sessions are packed with content, please log in 2–3 minutes early so we can start exactly at 6:30 pm BST.
-
Privacy & Intellectual Property: Do not record sessions or share a classmate’s music outside of the group without their explicit permission.
-
English as our Bridge: Since we are a global community, please keep discussions in English so everyone can follow along and learn together.
